Who are we?

ZooMedConservation was founded on March 21 2022 by three enthusiastic veterinarians, Jan Bos, Marnix Lamberts and Cosimo Franchetto, who share an interest and experience in zoo and wildlife medicine. We want to bring vets together to support the conservation of wildlife and their habitat.

Mission

ZooMedConservation, vets for wildlife and nature conservation, is a nonprofit foundation passionate about its mission to bring veterinary practitioners and vet students together in order to build a bright future for wildlife in a sustainable natural environment.

Vision

Nowadays animal conservation is more and more crucial due to uncontrolled human influence on the environment. Biodiversity is declining. The preservation and safeguarding of our wildlife helps to restore the world’s ecological balance.
Thanks to advanced veterinary knowledge and scientific research, we can make a difference for wildlife and habitat, reversing this dangerous trend.

The aim of ZooMedConservation is to represent a beneficial and effective network for veterinary experts, students and anybody relevant to this field. Working in synergy, we can achieve sustained improvements to the conservation of captive and free-ranging wildlife, medical care, and beneficial knowledge.

We provide grants for motivated individuals to carry out significant research projects or to assist in advancing this specialist field.

We are developing essential online and paper resources. Veterinary practitioners can have access to the most up-to-date information on zoo and wildlife medicine.

We want to bring different organizations together to raise funds for our mission. The importance of animal conservation is immeasurable, and the training and the work of veterinary specialists is progressively becoming more essential.
The financial help from different organizations will have an effect on in-situ and ex-situ conservation.

Public donations can really make a difference through our foundation, supporting those who are involved in preservation of wildlife species. The impact of the donations will help to reach multiple goals.
Every contribution to ZooMedConservation directly funds professional wildlife medicine and surgery, animal population wellness and restoration and prevention of biodiversity loss.

We firmly believe that our efforts can bring huge help to the veterinary community supporting wildlife conservation, aiding the professional development of vets, and accomplishment of valuable projects for wildlife and nature conservation.

“There is still so much in the world worth fighting for. So much that is beautiful, so many wonderful people working to reverse the harm, to help alleviate the suffering. And so many young people dedicated to making this a better world. All conspiring to inspire us and to give us hope that it is not too late to turn things around, if we all do our part.”
